Hawzah News Agency- Organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, the gathering created a deeply spiritual atmosphere marked by eloquent recitations, humility, and devotion to the Holy Quran.
Hojatoleslam Arif Hussain Wahedi, Vice Chairman of the Shia Ulema Council of Pakistan, attended both the opening ceremony and the competition’s final round. On the sidelines, he held talks with Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri-Moghaddam, and several religious and political figures.
Quran as a Unifying Force in the Muslim World
In his remarks, Hojatoleslam Wahedi described the Holy Quran as “the law of servitude, the charter of life, and the most complete program for human existence.” He praised the event as a historic step that could strengthen Quranic culture and reinforce Islamic identity across Pakistan.
He said Pakistan’s successful hosting of its first global Quran recitation competition represents both a national honor and a platform for the expansion of Quranic knowledge.
Expressing hope for the spiritual impact of the event, the Pakistani scholar said divine mercy, sustainable development, social stability, and lasting peace are among the blessings that accompany closeness to the Holy Quran.
A Message of Unity and Brotherhood
Hojatoleslam Wahedi highlighted the participation of leading reciters from various countries as a sign of international trust in Pakistan. He said the event carries a clear message of unity, empathy, and brotherhood for the wider Islamic Ummah.
Quran as the Common Charter of the Ummah
Reaffirming the Quran’s central role in the Muslim world, he said the Holy Quran remains the axis of unity—a divinely protected source of guidance accepted by all Islamic schools of thought. True unity, he added, becomes attainable when the Ummah adopts the Quran as the foundation of its collective movement.
The spiritual dimension of the competition, along with its emphasis on strengthening Islamic solidarity, has made the event a significant turning point in Pakistan’s Quranic activities.
